This course is right for you if:
✔️ You are a consultant, engineer, or researcher
✔️ You have a basic understanding of the physical processes associated with drainage and river networks hydraulics
✔️ You have a basic proficiency in the application of drainage system modelling software, for instance, MIKE URBAN or MIKE+ (such an understanding can obtained through the completion of DHI’s self-paced course MIKE+ CS – Getting started with urban drainage modelling)
Upon completion of the course, you will be able to:
✔️ Acquire information about the actual state of the relevant flow and other process variables used to control the system
✔️ Define and use sensors, control actions, and conditions to create control rules in the MIKE+ environment
✔️ Transfer knowledge and lessons learned to actual RTC projects and other modelling initiatives
This course includes four modules conducted through live, online sessions by a DHI authorised trainer. Training will be delivered through a combination of instructor-led lectures, demonstration videos and quizzes, hands-on exercises, group work in break-out rooms (if appropriate and relevant for the participants) and reading materials. Throughout the course, trainees will have ample time to discuss tips & tricks, best practices and examples with the instructor and fellow participants.
By combining homework and self-study with online instructor-led sessions, the learning process and objectives are optimised. Therefore, the trainee is expected to complete the equivalent of 1-hour homework per module – set by the trainer at the end of each module.
Extra course materials will also be made available to master the software in a greater depth. This is an optional investment of 3-4 hours of self-study.
