Instructors

Hisham Elsafti is a Coastal Engineer with more than 10 years of experience in port and marine civil engineering projects. He has wide experience in numerical modelling of fluid-structure and fluid-structure-seabed interaction modelling. In 2016, Elsafti was awarded the De Paepe-Willems Award from PIANC and the sponsorship award of the German Coastal Protection Foundation for his PhD dissertation.

Ph.D., Coastal Engineering, TU Braunschweig
M.Sc., Harbor Engineering and Marine Structures, Alexandria University

Sam is a Coastal Engineer with over six years’ experience working on a wide range of mooring analysis, hydrodynamic modelling and surface water projects. He has worked extensively on complex mooring analysis problems including multi-vessel modelling, transhipment loading operations, tug force operability assessments, Trelleborg AutoMoor and Cavitec MoorMaster applications and passing vessel studies. His knowledge in the vessel mooring space is complimented by a background in hydrodynamic modelling with projects completed ranging from detailed single port modelling through to large scale simulation of the entire Australian coastline.
