Geothermal modelling: From shallow down to deep geothermal reservoirs
Using FEFLOW
Berlin, Germany | 20-22 November 2023
Gain comprehensive training in geothermal modelling using FEFLOW.
Gain comprehensive training in geothermal modelling using FEFLOW.
FEFLOW is widely recognised as a comprehensive software package for subsurface flow and transport simulation. FEFLOW’s unique meshing capabilities (structured and unstructured) allow for the highest degree of flexibility to account in detail for the most simple to complex geometrical configurations. The software is used by leading research institutes, universities, consulting firms and
government organisations all over the world. FEFLOW’s scope of application ranges from simple local-scale to complex largescale modelling. Application areas include geothermal energy, water management, mine water, saltwater intrusion, and variably saturated media. If you are interested in gaining an in-depth overview of geothermal modelling using FEFLOW, this course is right for you.
The shallow-geothermal part of this course covers the necessary information and examples to work with open-loop and closed-loop system, investigate the feasibility of a geothermal system and understand the impact of groundwater on the system. The second part aims at providing you with the skills for dedicated modelling of deep geothermal reservoirs. Here the FEFLOW trainer will guide you through the mathematical background and modelling workflows for high-temperature systems.
This course includes two half-day sessions held at the DHI A/S office location in Berlin, Germany. These training sessions will be conducted by three FEFLOW experts and qualified trainers. You will learn through a combination of instructor-led lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises.
Throughout the course, you will have ample time to discuss tips & tricks, best practices and examples with your instructor and fellow participants. A major part of the course is allocated to hands-on group work assignments set by your trainer so please remember to bring your laptop.
